Frequently Asked Questions
-
What are your payment options?
Wilson Landscaping is happy to accept payment in a variety of forms. We currently accept payment in cheques and e-transfers. -
What is aeration and do I need it?
Lawn aeration is a process by which plugs of soil and thatch are removed from a lawn to promote the exchange of air, water, and nutrients between the soil and the atmosphere. This helps improve root growth and overall lawn health. Most lawns benefit from annual aeration, especially if they see heavy foot traffic or have compacted soil. -
What does it cost for your services?
Wilson Landscaping takes pride in what we offer to our customers – and it shows with every job that we do. We provide pricing for each of our clients on a customized basis depending on the specific services requested and the time required to execute these tasks effectively. There are multiple things to consider when pricing a project, including the size of the area, materials needed, complexity of the work, and timeline. We're happy to provide a free consultation and quote for your project. -
When should I work on my lawn/garden?
The timing of lawn and garden work depends on the season and specific tasks. Here's a general guide: **April**: Clean-up, rake, investigate winter damage **May**: Aerate and top-dress and overseed if needed, pull dandelions and other weeds, apply fertilizer **June-August**: Regular maintenance, watering, mowing, weeding **September-October**: Fall cleanup, aeration, overseeding, leaf removal **November**: Final cleanup, winter preparation We can help you create a customized maintenance schedule for your property. -
How specific can we get with our requests?
While many of our clients have learned to let us "run with our ideas" and design their gardens and landscaping accordingly, other clients prefer to be very specific about their vision. We welcome both approaches! We're happy to work with you to bring your exact vision to life, or we can provide design recommendations based on your property, style preferences, and budget. The best projects often come from a collaborative approach where we combine your ideas with our expertise. -
How often do you service our property?
Every property is somewhat unique for maintenance requirements. While many of our clients will have us in a couple of times each season for specific tasks, others prefer weekly or bi-weekly maintenance throughout the growing season. We work with you to create a maintenance schedule that fits your needs and budget. This can include regular lawn mowing, garden bed maintenance, weeding, pruning, and seasonal cleanups.
